The Video Contest For Creatives & Crafters is a fair and transparent contest and we want to make sure that all participants are provided with all the information that they need prior to entering the content.

Without question, having the right information saves you from any possible inconvenience or chance of losing the award or a place in the contest. Before you submit your video tutorials, please read our official rules and requirements. 

Eligibility

The Video Contest For Creatives & Crafters is for anyone around the world who signs up as a teacher on InfoDepot. However, participants must be of age (18+) or older in order to participate. 

This contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and void where prohibited by law. InfoDepot’s employees, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and directors are ineligible to participate in the contest. 

Sponsorship

The sponsor of this video contest is InfoDepot.com (“InfoDepot”), which is based in New York, New York. InfoDepot will conduct the contest as described in these Official Rules.

Agreement to Rules

By entering the Video Contest For Creatives & Crafters, each participant agrees to abide by the InfoDepot’s Official Rules and decisions, which are fully and unconditionally binding in all respects.  InfoDepot reserves the right to refuse, withdraw, or disqualify any video at any time at its sole discretion. 

By entering this contest you represent and warrant that you are eligible to participate based on eligibility requirements explained in the document as Official Rules. You also agree to accept the decisions of InfoDepot as final and binding as it relates to the content of this contest.  

Further, by submitting your content in this contest, you warrant and represent that your content  (a) is your original work, (b) has not been previously published, (c) has not been copied from other, (d) does not infringe upon the rights of any person or entity (including such individual’s and/or entity’s copyrights, trademarks rights, rights of privacy or publicity or any other intellectual property), (e) that you have obtained permission from a person whose name, likeness or name is used in the content, and (g) and that publication of the content via various media including Web posting, will not infringe on the rights of any third party rights. 

Any such participant will indemnify and hold harmless Released Parties (as defined herein) from any claims to the contrary. Any participant whose content includes names or likenesses of third parties or contains elements not owned by the entrant (such as, but not limited to, depictions of persons, buildings, trademarks or logos) must be able to provide legal releases for such use including InfoDepot’s use of such content, in a form satisfactory to InfoDepot, upon request, prior to award of prize and/or naming of entrant as a winner. 

The content submitted shall be 100% owned and controlled by the participant

The content shall be free and clear of any claims by any person whose writings, quotes, or ideas are embodied in the content, or any person rendering services in connection with the content. The content shall not contain any materials owned or controlled by a third party for which you have not obtained a license. InfoDepot reserves the right to remove or void any content that it deems to be in violation of these Official Rules, in its sole and absolute discretion.

How to Enter 

Eligible teachers and content creators can enter the Video Contest For Creatives & Crafters by (1) creating a teacher’s profile on InfoDepot.com AND (2) submitting at least two (2) video tutorials. 

Technical video requirements are:

  • be “how-to” videos
  • have (i) a clear introduction (essentially a preview that is no longer than 30 seconds that ideally explains and showcases the object or subject of the tutorial), (ii) the main part of the tutorial, and (iii) a conclusion 
  • videos should be around 30 minutes long
  • not be larger than 2 GB per video
  • be high quality: 1080p HD, 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920 × 1080

Calculating the points for videos and students 

A teacher receives five (5) points for each video that is submitted onto the platform  Upon entry into the contest,  each participant  will have  ten (10) points automatically by uploading their initial two (2) videos to qualify. Every subsequent video uploaded by the participant will add five (5) more points to their tally (Example – if a teacher uploads a total of three (3) videos to InfoDepot.com,, they will have fifteen (15) points).  In addition to video points, teachers can gain additional points in the contest by promoting their tutorials and enrolling students.   

Every  enrolled student counts as  one (1) additional point.  (Again, by example, a teacher uploads 3 videos and enrolls 10 new students would have 25 points.) For purposes of clarification, “enrolling a student” means a teacher is able to get a new user to register on InfoDepot and purchase the teacher’s class. 

The goal is to get as many points as possible to win the competition

Teachers can find the exact number of students enrolled by taking a look at their Transaction History located in the Teacher Dashboard in their Account. By aggregating the total number of points for  (1) uploaded videos and (2) the total number of students enrolled in all tutorials uploaded by the teacher for the contest.  the participant. 

NOTE:

Any videos uploaded by a participant prior to the commencement of the contest will NOT be counted in the scoring. 

As a participant, teacher’s video tutorials must fully meet all these requirements in order to be eligible to win a prize. Incomplete entries or those that do not adhere to the Official Rules or specifications will be disqualified at InfoDepot’s sole and absolute discretion.

NOTE: 

Inappropriate video tutorials will not be allowed. Our goal is to help talented and creative online teachers promote quality “how-to” tutorials and classes.  

Thus, all content submitted to the contest must: 

  • comply with these Official Rules and any Terms of Service of InfoDepot.com;
  • be uploaded/submitted in the format specified herein and must comply with the posting requirements set forth above and as posted on the InfoDepot website;
  • not use indecent or obscene material or language;
  • not bebe sexually explicit or suggestive, violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, profane or pornographic, contain nudity or any materially dangerous activity;
  • Not promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, or firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), and cannot promote or portray any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message;
  • not be offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group;
  • not defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging, libelous, or misleading remarks, comments, or material about InfoDepot or about any other people, products or companies;
  • not infringe on or violate any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, right of publicity, or other intellectual property, proprietary, or contractual right of a third party and cannot contain any personal identification such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses, other than that of the participant;
  • not contain trademarks, logos or trade dress owned by others, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, without permission;
  • not contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, sculptures, paintings and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media) without permission (InfoDepot does not permit the infringement of others’ rights and any use of materials not original to the participant) is grounds for disqualification from the contest. 
  • not include any background artwork, unless it is an original work of the participant (any artwork, murals, etc. that can be seen in the content must be created solely by the participant or participant must be the sole owner of all copyright interests therein);
  • not be abusive or harassing towards any individual or group of individuals regarding race, sex, religion, creed, national origin, age, disability, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation or any legally protected classification (which includes, but is not limited to, epithets or slurs, threats, intimidations, or hostile acts);
  • not contain materials embodying the names, likenesses, photographs, or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead, without permission;
  • not communicate any messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which InfoDepot wishes to associate;
  • not depict, and cannot itself, be in violation of any law; and
  • be socially acceptable and in good taste, as determined by InfoDepot in its sole discretion.

ALL DECISIONS REGARDING THE APPROPRIATENESS OF THE MATERIALS CONTAINED IN THE CONTENT SHALL BE AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF INFODEPOT.COM. 

Submitting period 

The contest begins at 9 am (EST-NY) on April 19, 2021, and will end at 11:59 am (EST-NY) on  May 19, 2021. With respect to the submission period for the beginning and ending of the contest, InfoDepot’s computer will be deemed the official time keeping device. 

Prize 

The winner of the Video Contest For Creatives & Crafters will receive One Thousand ($1,000) U.S. Dollars in cash. Once the winner is announced by InfoDepot, we will get in touch with them to work out the details when it comes to sending over the prize. The prize can be transferred using PayPal or any other method the winner finds suitable and it is something we will discuss with them as soon the winner is announced.

The winner is subject to verification, including verification of eligibility. If a participant is unable to verify his/her information, the participant will automatically be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited. InfoDepot reserves the right to determine an alternate winner of a video contest in accordance with these Official Rules in the event that a winner is disqualified, cannot be contacted, or is deemed ineligible for any reason.

Taxes

The law provides that any U.S. person winning over $600 in prizes from InfoDepot in a calendar year will be issued an IRS Form 1099 reporting the value of those prizes to the IRS.

Thus, the prize awarded to the winner of this contest must be reported to the IRS as required by law. The winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local taxes, related to prize acceptance.

The winner must provide InfoDepot with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded.  Failure to provide such information upon request, will disqualify the winner from the contest and InfoDepot will select another winner. 

Odds

Each new video brings 5 points, and teachers can upload as many quality teaching videos as they like to get more points. Also, they can share video tutorials with the network and invite people to enroll to get maximum points. 

Selection and Notification of the Video Contest Winner

The winner will be selected under the supervision of InfoDepot’s CEO Janine Dorsett and her team. InfoDepot will notify the winner by email within 5 days following the winner selection. 

InfoDepot is not responsible for nor shall have no liability for the winner’s failure to receive notices due to email security settings that may cause notifications to be marked as spam or junk email. Nor shall InfoDepot be liable for the winner’s provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. 

If the winner fails to claim the prize within five (5) days from the time the award notification was sent, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. 

Rights Granted by the Teachers 

By submitting a video tutorial in this contest, you understand and agree that you are granting to  InfoDepot an irrevocable, exclusive worldwide license to use the videos in news, publicity, advertising, promotional purposes, trade, information, and public relations without any further notice, review, consent, compensation, or remuneration to you from InfoDepot for such use and promotion.

Further, you agree to maintain the videos on the InfoDepot platform for your own account, but if you elect to terminate your relationship with InfoDepot (as a teacher), you hereby agree to assign all rights, title and interest to the content to InfoDepot.com including all, but not limited to, all copyright and trademark rights which the participant have, in the United States and worldwide, therein, for consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged.

Winner hereby waives in favor of InfoDepot, all rights of “Droit Moral” or “Moral Rights of Authors” or any similar rights or principles of law that winner may now or later have to their content.   

InfoDepot reserves the right to alter, change or modify the winning content, in its sole discretion.

Upon request of InfoDepot, winner shall execute and deliver such additional instrument of assignment, as may be solely deemed by InfoDepot, reasonably necessary to establish the ownership of record of the right, title and interest in and to the content and of the copyrights transferred and “Moral Rights of Authors” waived under these Official Rules. Should InfoDepot fail to request the said assignment as stated, that shall not be deemed a waiver of InfoDepot’s rights and InfoDepot may at a later time request the assignment.

Governing Law

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the contest Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of participant and InfoDepot in connection with the contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, U.S.A., without giving effect to the conflict of laws rules thereof, and any matters or proceedings which are not subject to arbitration as set forth in Section 11 of these Official Rules and/or for entering any judgment on an arbitration award, shall take place in the State of New York, in the City of New York.

Disputes

Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to the contest shall be settled by binding arbitration in a location determined by the arbitrator or at such other location as may be mutually agreed upon by the parties, in accordance with the procedural rules for commercial disputes set forth in the Comprehensive Arbitration Rules and Procedures of JAMS (“JAMS Rules and Procedures”) then prevailing, and judgment upon the award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.

The arbitrator shall be selected pursuant to the JAMS Rules and Procedures. The arbitrator shall apply New York law consistent with the Federal Arbitration Act and applicable statutes of limitations, and shall honor claims of privilege recognized at law.If any part of this arbitration provision is deemed to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal (other than that claims will not be arbitrated on a class or representative basis), or otherwise conflicts with the rules and procedures established by JAMS, then the balance of this arbitration provision shall remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with its terms as if the invalid, unenforceable, illegal or conflicting provision were not contained herein.

THE ARBITRATION OF DISPUTES PURSUANT TO THIS PARAGRAPH SHALL BE IN THE PARTICIPANT’S INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. THE ARBITRATOR MAY NOT CONSOLIDATE OR JOIN THE CLAIMS OF OTHER PERSONS OR PARTIES WHO MAY BE SIMILARLY SITUATED. DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO HAVE ANY CLAIM OR CONTROVERSY ARBITRATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE OFFICIAL RULES.

Releases, Waivers and Limitations on Liability

By participating in the video contest, each participant agrees to release and waive any and all claims of liability against InfoDepot.com and Sagacio LLC, a New York limited liability company (“Sagacio”),  including but not limited to, each entity’s directors, officers, shareholders, members, employees, affiliates, agents, successors and assigns and any third parties retained by InfoDepot.com or Sagacio in connection with the conduct of the contest (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to the conduct of or participation in the contest, or the awarding, shipping/handling, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of the prize.

By accepting the prize, the winner hereby agrees: (i) to release each of the Released Parties from any and all claims in connection with the contest and the award or use of the prize; and (ii) where allowed by law, sign a publicity release confirming consent to use the winner’s name/likeness as set forth herein prior to acceptance of the prize. 

The Released Parties are not responsible or liable to any participant or winner or any person claiming through such participant or winner for failure to supply the prize or any part thereof, by reason of any acts of God, any action, regulation, order or request by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not the action, regulations, order or request proves to be invalid), equipment failure, threatened terrorist acts, terrorist acts, air raid, blackout, act of public enemy, earthquake, volcanic eruption, war (declared or undeclared), fire, flood, epidemic, explosion, unusually severe weather, hurricane, embargo, labor dispute or strike (whether legal or illegal) labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slow-down, civil disturbance, insurrection, riot, or any other cause beyond the Released Parties’ sole control. Upon awarding the prize, InfoDepot will have no further obligation to the winner.

Privacy Policy

Information submitted with a video tutorial is subject to the Privacy Policy stated on the InfoDepot website. Click here to read the Privacy Policy. 

Publicity

Except where prohibited, by accepting a prize, the winner grants InfoDepot permission to use their names, characters, images, voices, and likenesses worldwide, in perpetuity, in any and all media now known or hereinafter invented in any and all marketing and promotional materials and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use. The winner’s name may be included in a publicly available announcement.
